Offiziell!

Yip, jetzt ist es offiziell. Wir haben den Mietvertrag unterschrieben und somit gibt es kein Zurück mehr. Wir werden in die schnuckelige Wohnung ziehen, die ich Euch schon vorgestellt habe. Heute gibt es schon mal ein paar Bilder von den neuen Schulen zu sehen. Jetzt, wo auch diese Hürde genommen ist. Man glaubt gar nicht, wie kompliziert es ist, schulpflichtige Kinder an neuen Schulen anzumelden. Und wenn man sich zwischen zwei Realschulen entscheiden muss, ist das auch nicht das einfachste. Welche nehmen? Die, die näher dran ist und mit öffentlich Verkehrsmitteln schneller zu erreichen ist? Oder doch die, die den "besseren Ruf" hat, dafür aber quasi am "Ende der Welt" ist und verbindlichen Ganztagsunterricht anbietet? Freitags Schule bis 16 Uhr? Ne, irgendwie nicht vorstellbar und deswegen hat diese Schule dann doch verloren und die Entscheidung fiel auf die Schule im DDR-Plattenbau-Stil. Ich glaube, ich bin fast aufgeregter über den Schulwechsel als die Kinder.

Neue Schulen

Yip, it is official now. We signed the contract, so we´ll be moving into that sweet appartment that I introduced you to some posts ago. There is no going back anymore. Today I  put some pics from the kids´ new schools here. Well, since we have a different school system here in Germany it is a little different to explain what we went through choosing the right schools. Well, Bente and Lasse will go to the Elementary school in town. No choice on that one. Imke is going to the local "Gymnasium", which doesn´t have anything to do with sports as much as it seems. It is the name for that school form. No choice on her school eather. But, Dennis and Johanna, both going to the "Realschule",  had to make a choice between two schools. One closer to the big city Cologne and easier to get to and one kind of at the end of the world with a slightly better reputation. But it also has full-time-education, meaning school´s out at 4 p.m. Well, this is not very common in german schools. And I couldn´t get used to the thought of Johanna going to school till 4 p.m. on Fridays. Nope. So we decided to sign up both for the school in Bruehl. Hope we made the right choice. I think, I am more excited and nervous about the new schools than the kids are.
